Time for Lacrosse

Last night we took Kai to play Lacrosse. Our neighbor, Chris is the head coach and also happened to play in college. His son is the same age as Kai and is playing as well so when they asked if Kai would like to come by and play we were excited.
They let Kai borrow some of the gear to play and it looks like Kai took right too it. He has a lot to learn still but he loved it.

He was so red and sweaty after, but it really gave him some much needed release of energy. After they were done we spoke with Chris and he told us what we needed to get. We need to get the pole, helmet and gloves ASAP that way he is practicing with them. Chris even offered to take him to practices when they start up since he is right across the street that is great. So this is the sport of Kai's choice. Oh yeah he also mentioned that Kai has a great gift that you can't really teach, but he is the only one that will look behind him to see where his opponent is. I did see him do this and thought he should have been looking for the ball and not the person behind him, but Chris said that is great that he can do that.

I have a few pictures, but I forgot the camera and had to use my cell phone camera so they are not the best shots, but it will have to do.

Here he is being taught some of the basics of the game. He is in the red pants in all the shots, in fact he is the only one in pants in any of these.

Waiting for the boys to come to their side with the ball. They can't cross a certain line.

Kai is the one in the middle. Not sure what he was doing here.

I'm so excited he likes Lacrosse! Looks like a fun sport and know that Sarah played some and she really liked it. Great energy release! Anxious to see how it and he progresses. Miss you all terribly and sending love and hugs. Mom/Deb/Grandma Deb
