Where have we been.....

Well...honestly we have just been busy with school, karate, work and life.  We're about to head to Breckenridge for lil man's karate testing this weekend so that will free up some time soon since he will be done till April from the constant karate.  But we're going to look at getting Pea in gymnastics again, we'll see how that goes, and if all else fails, she will be in Karate most likely next May.  So that is all we have been up to on the home front but there has been many other things happening near our home.

We're devastated by the abduction and murder of sweet beautiful Jessica Ridgeway.  Her body was discovered about 3 miles from our home & there have been a number of attempts near & around our home within the last year.  It is unthinkable and heart breaking to see this happen to any child.  We're told not to live in fear, but I have to admit I am finding myself more paranoid these days.  Our Lil Man is 13, almost a 2nd degree black belt & trained in self defense & almost as tall as his father, but we're still not letting him out of our site and certainly Pea is only allowed in the back yard.  Our Lil Man always goes to the creek near our home and about a year ago a bold attempt was made along the creek.  HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?  We certainly think & feel that we live in a great neighborhood, one of the reason we moved to this area 4 years ago, and we have learned quickly it can happen anywhere.

Westminster is directly North of us, and where Jessica was abducted was about 10 miles north.  The trail of the area this sick person left her backpack to disposing her precious body, makes us to believe he knows this area well.  You would have to know the area to travel the roads the sicko did, which makes this all the more scary.

All that said we pray for protection over our kids, community, and all those involved in trying to capture and bring justice for Jessica.  We pray for her family and loved one's and all those directly impacted by her loss.  I know there is only one peace I have in all of this, and that is knowing we serve and follow the ONE who wipes our tears, grieves with us, comforts us, gives us peace beyond all peace, and most of all has Jessica in His arms letting her know there is no more hurt, fear or tears - JESUS!
