When God closes a door He opens another!

For over a year we have know that the kids school has been put up for sale. We chose to let them continue going there through the year and even had re-enrolled them for this coming 2011. But word came there was a for sure buyer so we started to talk and pray about where to send them. We considered just having lil man go onto public school but as we went through our choices more and more concerns began to arise.

We do live in a district where the schools are very good academically, but for us we want our kids to be in a school that is faith based, continues to teach values and morals the public schools have removed. We know what our kids will be taught and there is no question that as a parent I have a say in this by sending them to a faith based school. So we contacted the enrollment team at Faith Christian Academy and began the process of enrolling lil man. It is a K-12th grade Private Christian school and about the same distance as Maranatha was but just south of us.

We met with the school, had a tour and lil man spoke with the Principal. He was excited to learn that 2 of his friends that left Maranatha go to Faith and we were thrilled with their academics and how advanced they are. They will be teaching them excel, word, power point all those things and he will be able to email assignments to his teachers and more. They discussed how at this age kids are into themselves and so they really focus on being selfless and showing them how there are people out there in need and so on.

We left very excited with the possibilities of it all. We we waited for the above letter to come confirming Maranatha was sold, and when it did I made the call advising Faith we were moving forward with enrollment.

We received this letter from Faith and we couldn't be more happy.

The school that purchased Maranatha is keeping the child care so after talking with her teacher and checking with other parents on if they will leave, they are all staying, we will leave her for this year. Next year when she starts kindergarten she will start at Faith. It was sad to walk into what was Marantha but now a Charter school and see all the scripture being painted over and any reference to Jesus or the Bible being erased, but we know where her teachers heart is and if Pea wants to pray they said they can't stop her so she will be ok for this year.

Lil man will have a back to school night next week and go in for a few hours on Tuesday before officially starting back on Friday. This is new since we are used to starting back the day after Labor Day, but we are all ready and excited.

Let the school fun begin!
