Getting ready for Christmas

Yesterday we spent a lot of the day trying to get the decorations up. We don't overly decorate our front yard just enough to show that we do love celebrating this special time.

So here are just some of the things we put up and some pictures of Pea trying to put up her new Elmo ornament. Oh the main picture shown on the blog is of the kids from last year. Hoping I can get a decent one of them soon to replace that year old photo.

Welcome to our home. Jason's Aunt Sharon made this for us many years ago & we love putting it up every year.

Mr. Snowman is keeping watch.

I heard the bells on Christmas day. We put Christmas bells over our garage lights rather then wreaths which seem to be a popular thing to do, so you know we have to be different.

Christmas bells lit up.

This is a horrible shot of the whole house but I posted it because Kai was being silly and making the Egyptian dance pose.

The Christmas tree lighting our path.

Our front porch and more Christmas bells.

Front porch lit up.

As you enter the house the stair railings are decorated.

Our Christmas stockings that my mother in law has given each of us along the years. Another favorite to put up.

Our Mr. Woofy. It's been rough doing all the firsts with out him and Christmas is going to be hard since he was such a big part of it. Jason had the honor of putting his stocking up this year.

Many years ago Jason's Aunt Dee made the family Christmas tree skirts. They have different looks on each side. One has snow men & the other has reindeer & santa's sleigh. They are cherished by the family & this year placing it under our tree was a reminder to love your family and cherish them forever. Aunt Dee passed away on September 21st of ALS & I am certain will be missed by all this Christmas.

Our wonderful Christmas Tree all lit up.

HE brings Joy, Peace & Love like no other can.

That's right...it's Merry Christmas. Not Happy Holidays or Season's Greetings.

Pea is trying to put her new Elmo ornament up.

Daddy came to help.

Elmo sings Jingle Bells and Pea had to press the button over and over to hear him sing.

and sing along with him too.

Of course she has to touch many of the other ornaments. And so the fun and countdown begin.

Mr. Woofers stocking definitely hit home, we are so beyond thankful Madison pulled through or it could be a difficult christmas for us this year too, she has stocking too! Praying you through this Christmas and that thoughts of Mr. Woofer warm your heart instead of sorrow.
